Hallmark Of Harmony Chorus

Musical Director - Andy Allen

A couple of songs very often sung at the start and end of a Chorus rehearsal are The Old Songs(OS) and Let's Get Together Again/Keep The Whole World Singing Medley(LGTA)

They are short, easy and a very good introduction to Barbershop Singing. They are universally known by all Barbershoppers and would be very good with which to start your repertoire. Please have a go at them.

Knowing that the Lead Part in Barbershop is always sung below the Tenor Part, you will have to decide by listening and trying out the different parts, which suits the range of your voice best.  Please come along to one of our rehearsals. Andy and others will be glad to advise you on which part best suits your voice if you are uncertain.

There is a .pdf file of the music for you to print out to help you follow the recordings.
If you are able to read music you must know that the top two parts(Tenor and Lead)  are sung an octave lower than written.

When you have had a go on your own come and try and sing the songs with us on a Tuesday Evening. You'll be made very welcome

There's more freely downloadable music at the Barbershop Harmony Society's website from Here

There are also the standard Pole Cat Songs which can be found  Here All Barbershoppers world-wide know these and are sung at all our meetings. A great way to get to sing with any Barbershop Chorus or Quartet and to get acquainted with your new friends.
